Dream Big is a family ran business, after many years of experience running a children’s nursery school and seeing the benefits of role play, we are now branching out into a role play centre for the whole family to enjoy. The former Grange Villa Sure Start Centre has been converted into a specially designed children’s role play centre aimed at children aged 0-8.
We have 6 different dedicated role play areas for the children to enjoy. For the babies we have a specially designed baby soft play area to stimulate your little ones safely while the bigger ones play in the role play areas. We have a separate baby sensory snug available to hire.
We also have an enormous garden for the whole family to enjoy which has a soft tarmac area and a large, grassed garden with our own chickens! We can be hired exclusively on weekends to host a family get together, party, baby shower or any event!
And of course, we have a café offering refreshments, meals, snacks and homemade cakes. We are used to catering for many allergies and always aim to have something for everyone.
As well as being a role play centre, our owner and founder Joanna Coulthard is a Breastfeeding counsellor. Joanna offers 1-1 breastfeeding support, baby massage, rhyme time classes, weaning and first aid. We are a breastfeeding friendly facility and Joanna runs a new Mam’s breastfeeding support group every Wednesday. We hope to have antenatal and hypnobirthing classes in the future. 6. Dream Big promotes physical development. Running, hoping, skipping and turn taking are all skills children learn in a safe, clean friendly environment.
Our roleplay areas have been carefully designed and equipped with resources for your children to play safely in. You are always close so can sit back, relax and watch your child learn safely through play. We have a beauty salon, café, supermarket, jail, vets and a builders yard.
BENEFITS OF OUTDOOR PLAY
There are huge benefits for all ages to be outdoors. Using all 5 senses, learning through play to builds skills and confidence in our children. Outdoor play lowers stress levels, improves mood and attention span. Outdoor play improves spacial awareness, gross motor skills, cooperation and balance.
Our first soft tarmac area children can use traditional ride on toys to learn to balance, cycling, running, skipping and jumping! We have sandpits and water play areas.
In our aim to be eco friendly we have our own vegetable patch that children often help to water and harvest. Our home bred chickens are fed by the children and often roam free in the gardens.
At Dream Big our play area is custom built for children so we maximise the fun for everyone.
In each of our play areas we have the relevant role play costumes and toys to go with the role, so the children will waste no time getting into character!
